Park Place Jaguar's Review of the Dallas Jaguar Drive Experience
Posted By: Jaguar Plano - 2011-12-05
Representatives from Park Place Jaguar Dallas and Jaguar Plano were fortunate to attend an exciting event just yesterday. The Jaguar Drive Experience took place throughout the weekend, December 2-4, 2011 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, and will continue until today, December 5. When we attended on Sunday, the turn-out was impressive, in spite of the rainy and cold weather. The Jaguar Drive Experience was well executed and is exactly what Jaguar needs more of to create awareness for their amazing 2012 line-up of beautiful performance vehicles.
The facilities at Lone Star Park were first class, and all of the Jaguar representatives were extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. There were multiple opportunities each day to test drive the vehicles and show off the spectacular capabilities of the Jaguar line-up. The Jaguar Drive Experience was both fun and educational, and really gave attendees a chance to fully experience the 2012 Jaguar XF, XJ, and XK.

Upon entrance, attendees were registered at the welcome counter, then given a chance to look around the facility. Inside, guests could learn more about the Jaguar vehicles, as well as the history of Jaguar. There was even an artist sketching various models, and the winner of the time trials -- more on this later -- selected from these original Jaguar sketches as a prize.
Attendees were then escorted into a training room. The first presenter was fun, friendly and humorous. The second presenter was more technical. After the brief presentation, attendees were able to select between the different models to drive. The drive went through the streets and neighborhoods around Lone Star Park.
During the drive, the Jaguar team highlighted the key features of the vehicles. The amazingly smart traction control system proved itself in the wet and rainy conditions, as the vehicles could not only take off without any issues in the inclement weather, but they could also stop quickly on the wet pavement in a straight line. The Jaguar line-up fully demonstrated their power, safety, and beauty. Drivers were impressed by the fine woodwork and craftmanship of the interiors. The typical "new car smell" was replaced by the rich smell of leather, and the fully-electronic virtual instrument panel gave the vehicles a modern touch.
Upon returning from the drive through the streets, attendees were offered four different opportunities to drive various courses.
The first was a timed course, made up of multiple turns to really test the driving capabilities of the vehicles. Before the attendees took the course, there was a brief training session on how to take tight turns while maximizing speed. Drivers were impressed with the power of these vehicles, especially with how well they took tight turns and were able to brake smoothly.
The next course was an acceleration and deceleration course. It was amazing how the XJ traction control took over as drivers "gunned" the vehicle down the course, then at full speed were instructed to brake hard. Equally as amazing, the car stopped in an extremely short distance and never skidded or lost control.
Next, there was a course that tested the traction control of these vehicles. Soapy water was spread on a tarp to simulate icy driving. Attendees drove through it with and without the traction control on. They were all very impressed with the results, especially with winter well on its way.
The final course was a road simulation made of various road conditions. Each Jaguar model continued to perform above and beyond expectations, impressing everyone in attendance.
After driving these courses, attendees had their photos with a Jaguar. Jaguar representatives emailed the photo to each person as a keepsake of the event. Attendees were also given a gift bag with literature and a Jaguar cap.
A first class buffet was available with crab stuffed mushrooms, chicken skewers, bacon wrapped shrimp and a host of desserts. There was also a dark chocolate table that offered a variety of chocolates. The warm coffee was a hit on the cold day.
The Jaguar Driving Experience was first-class and just what Jaguar needs to enable drivers to experience first-hand the fine performance of the beautiful Jaguar line-up. The Jaguar team should be commended for a job well done.
